Report by Adam Yates

Marine bounced back from their midweek defeat to Macclesfield with a deserved victory over Lancaster City as they moved up to 4th with a game in hand.
The first half was highly uneventful with Marine passing well from the back for large periods but unable to pierce the back line of City effectively.
Captains Simon Grand and Marine’s Josh Wardle shepherded their defences effectively in a stalemate opening 45mins.
The lacklustre first half gave way to a more entertaining second with three goals and a red card at the sidelines.
Marine broke the deadlock on 56 minutes through Sol Solomon. Impressive link up play between Osei and Sinclair-Smith landed at the feet of Solomon who completed a neat side footed shot past keeper Andre Mendes.
Midway through the second half, referee Joseph Goodwin conversed with his assistant and sent off Marine’s coach, Ian Johnson for verbal dissent from the touchline.
The Mariners doubled their lead with a Jordan Lussey pass in the Lancaster final third that gave Finlay Sinclair-Smith enough room to score his 11th goal of the season.
However, Lancaster City attempted to spoil the party. Marine switched off momentarily at the back which led to a well taken header by City’s Dominic Lawson for what  proved to be a consolation in defeat.
