Josh Wardle returns to Marine on long-term deal

Marine FC are delighted to confirm that defender Josh Wardle has agreed a return to the Club, rejoining from Radcliffe for an undisclosed fee on a long-term deal which will see him stay at the Marine Travel Arena until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Wardle, who helped the Mariners win promotion to the Vanarama National League North last season, made 52 appearances in his first spell at the club and now returns to the MTA where he made so many special memories first time.

Neil Young said: “We all know how well Josh did for us over the previous two years and it’s been well documented that we never wanted him to leave in the summer.

“Unfortunately at times, that’s football. The most important thing is now he is back with us and I know from speaking with him he is excited to be back and looking forward to helping us in our first campaign in the NLN.”

On rejoining Marine, Josh said: “I’m pleased to be back at the MTA – everyone at the club knows what I’m about so they can expect more of that this year.

“I’m looking forward to picking up some more wins and building our way up that table. Up the Mariners 🤍🖤.”
