Jack Hazlehurst joins Marine on loan

Vanarama National League North Marine FC are delighted to announce that forward Jack Hazlehurst has joined on loan from Burton Albion until the end of the season.

Marine have beaten competition from National League and other National League North clubs to sign the winger on loan.

Jack represented City of Liverpool between 2017 and 2023, before moving up the pyramid into the National League North with Chorley, where he scored 10 goals in 34 league games, and then up again to League One side Burton last summer.

The attacking midfielder was nicknamed ‘the Purple Messi’ during his time at City of Liverpool, and ‘the Magpie Messi’ during his time at Chorley.

The 25-year-old is close to full match fitness, but will not be involved in tomorrow’s home game against Buxton.

Manager Neil Young said: “It has been no secret that we have been trying to strengthen in forward areas and improve our attacking options and Jack certainly does that.

“His record speaks for itself, in particular his goals and assists.

“Jack is well aware of the level and the demands and I know he is really looking forward to playing regularly, likewise I’m really looking forward to working with him.”

On signing for Marine, Jack said: “I’m pleased to be here. It’s a club with rich history.

“It’s probably the biggest non-league club in Liverpool. I’ve played against them a few times, I know what the supporters are like, and they come in numbers, so I’m looking forward to getting playing in front of them.”
