All at Marine AFC are deeply saddened by the passing of supporter Michael Leppert, following an incident at Seaforth Docks on Wednesday.
Mike, 63, was a regular fan of the Mariners home and away with his grandsons and will be missed by all at the club.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Mike’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Good evening Dave
Thank you all at the club, I am spending the day with his son Craig tomorrow to start to make arrangments for the funeral for now we are fine thanks. The grandkids done everything with spike he was their world, as we they his.
The tribute you have posted means a lot thanks.
By the way we all lived in jubilee road when we were young, back in the day When footballers had steel toe capped boots and had a pint before the game!! Ha!! Have a great evening and thanks again

So sorry for your loss, walked back from South Road the Saturday before last with Spike, talking and laughing about games of footy when we were younger, bands and albums we listened to. So many happy shared memories. He told me how much he was looking forward to attending Marine’s last game of the season. He really was a top, top man and the absolute definition of what a grandad should be. It really was a pleasure to have known and grown up with him, no matter where and when I met him he always had a smile on his face. Will be sadly missed by everyone who ever met him.
