MARINE AFC – CHANGE OF ENTITY

FA and National League give go ahead to Marine AFC change of entity

Vanarama National League North Marine is pleased to announce that The FA and the National League have given approval for Marine AFC to change its entity from an Unincorporated Association to a private limited company. The transfer of undertaking is to take place on the 1st June 2025.

The new company Marine Association Football Club Limited, company number 16221014, is a company limited by guarantee with no share capital.

There are a number of reasons behind the change, with Marine being the only Step 2 club to be unincorporated and the FA recommending the change to an incorporated entity.

The club has also seen turnover rise significantly over the past few years and the new incorporated company will mean that the previous unlimited liability for members no longer applies.

Chairman Paul Leary said:

“This has been a long and arduous task to undertake from the original meeting of members at the beginning of the year until receiving the final approval from the football authorities. The change in entity has the support of our  members, customers, suppliers, sponsors and pitch partners and has involved the setting up of new bank accounts and HMRC accounts for PAYE & VAT which operate from the 1st June 2025.

I would like to thank Muckle LLP for their guidance through the process and to The FA and National League for giving the ultimate approval.”
