All at Marine AFC are deeply saddened by the passing of former player, and Captain, Colin Edwards.
Colin was one of a select band of players to make more than 500 appearances for the club, having made his debut in 1971 and being granted a testimonial match (against Wrexham) in November 1981.
He scored many goals for the Mariners including in the FA Cup against Hartlepool in 1974 and the touring Zambia national team in 1978.
During his time at Marine the side won three Cheshire League titles (1974, 76 and 78), two Cheshire League shields (1975 and 76) and a cup double of Lancashire Junior Cup / Liverpool Senior Cup in 1979, in addition to FA Cup First and Second Round appearances in 1974 and 75 respectively.

Colin’s funeral service is at Springwood Crematorium, L25 7UN at 1pm on Thursday 14th August, returning to Hope University, Taggart Avenue, Childwall L16 9JD.
