James is a product of the Marine Academy and signed National League forms in December 2025.

Made his debut in the Liverpool Senior Cup tie v Burscough, scoring the opening goal for the Mariners.

He went on to make 4 full and 24 substitute appearances, scoring a total of 6 goals to the end of the 2025/26 season..
