Marine 2-0 Bootle

Marine beat Sefton neighbours Bootle 2-0 at the Marine Travel Arena with goals in each half.

Good work from Fin Sinclair-Smith saw an inviting ball across the area turned in to the net by home trialist #9 with a deft backheel on 23 minutes.

Trialist #9 came the closest to doubling the home side’s advantage before half time, latching on to a through ball and rounding Owen Mooney in the Bucks’ goal, but seeing his shot hit the base of the post.

Substitute Charley Doyle made the game safe for the Mariners after 67 minutes, finding space on the left of the area to lift the ball in to the far corner.
