Cat signs on loan from Blackburn…
Marine AFC are delighted to announce the season long loan signing of goalkeeper Felix Goddard from Blackburn Rovers.
Felix, 19, was born in Frankfurt and began his career in the Youth set up at Manchester City.
He joined Blackburn in 2020, reaching the quarter finals of the FA Youth Cup before signing a professional contract in 2022.
He spent most of last season on loan at Bamber Bridge, helping the Irongate side to a third place finish and a play off Final in the NPL Premier Division.
Manager Neil Young said:
“Felix has always been my first choice from the start of this year’s recruitment process.
I appreciate that some fans will have been a little nervous about the goalkeeping situation but these things do take time and now I’m really happy we have been able to get Felix in on this loan.
I would like to thank Blackburn Rovers and in particular Ben Benson in helping make the loan possible.
I would also like to thank Wigan Athletic for allowing young Matty Corran to play for us in recent games and his performances in those games as a 17 year old have been exceptional. A big thanks also to Matty for playing in those games.”
