Marine defeat 10-men Leamington 2-0 in Warwickshire after a comfortable display.
The Mariners started the game the better of the two sides, dominating the ball and the game’s early chances.
The 20th minute saw the Brakes reduced to 10 after a very high challenge on Chris Doyle by Leamington captain, Adam Walker.
Going down to 10, however, seemed to spring the home side into life and they then looked the better side for large parts of the first half.
Despite this, it was Marine who broke the deadlock in the 39th minute, against the run of play. After great play by Andy Scarisbrick to find space and play a perfectly weighted through ball to Enock Lusiama who lifted the ball over goalkeeper, Callum Hawkins, to find the top corner.
After taking the lead the Mariners were able to see out the first half comfortably and go into the break with the advantage.
The second half started slowly and saw very little in the way of chances for either side.
Marine defended well and were happy to sit back as the hosts looked for a way back into the game.
Marine doubled their lead through Fin Sinclair-Smith in the 84th minute, eight minutes after coming off the bench. Kallan Murphy played a good ball through to Sinclair-Smith who burst away from the defenders and was able to finish calmly past Hawkins.
Similarly to the first half, the Mariners were again able to defend well for the remainder of the half and see out the game comfortably.
