Mariners host Southport in Round 2 on Tuesday 15 December at the MTA in all ticket game

TICKETS PURCHASED FOR THE SOUTHPORT GAME WILL NOT COUNT TOWARDS ELIGIBILITY FOR THE EMIRATES FA CUP GAME AGAINST TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Northern Premier League Marine announces arrangements for their game against Southport in Round 2 of The Buildbase FA Trophy to be played on Tuesday 15 December at 7:45pm at The Marine Travel Arena.

On Saturday Marine beat Hyde United in Round 1 of the Buildbase FA Trophy 1-0 with a second half strike by Ryan Wignall in an eventful game that saw three players red carded, two of them for the visitors.

Marine have now progressed through four rounds so far in The Buildbase FA Trophy beating Tadcaster Albion, Mossley, Stalybridge Celtic and at the weekend Hyde United from the NPL Premier Division.

The FA with the Government and the support of Sefton Council are allowing a maximum of 400 spectators into the stadium for the Southport game which represents 12% of the capacity of The Marine Travel Arena. As a consequence of the strictly limited number of fans allowed, the need for track and trace information and to assist in meeting Tier 2 lockdown rules the game will be all ticket with tickets purchased via Kaizen Ticketing Solutions.

Stage 5 of the Government’s return of spectators allows home fans only where the visiting team is an elite club. Southport cannot therefore be allocated any tickets out of the 400 capacity. Any Southport fans attempting to enter the Marine Travel Arena using home tickets allocations will be refused entry to the ground and no refund will be offered.

Spectators purchasing tickets must be resident within the Liverpool City Region postcode areas.

Adult tickets cost £10.75 including transaction and booking fees of 75p. Concessionary tickets for retired citizens and school children cost £6.50 including fees of 50p.

Tickets for The Buildbase FA Trophy game against Southport are on sale from 11am on Sunday 13 December and can only be purchased using the link:

Fans entering the stadium must have their e-ticket or printed ticket which will be scanned on entry at gates 1 or 2 on College Road. Turnstiles will be open from 6:45pm. In addition supporters are encouraged to scan the QR code within the stadium, using the NHS Covid 19 app from their smartphone.

Visitors must comply with local lockdown measures set by the Government and follow instructions given by the safety stewards in addition to adhering to the distancing and one way signage on the terraces and in and around the stand.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary said:

“Marine’s result on Saturday was an incredible 11thwin in FA competitions this season, seven in the Emirates FA Cup and now four in the Buildbase FA Trophy. The season has been absolutely amazing for everyone connected with Marine as we continue with an unbelievable sequence of results that has seen us with 14 consecutive wins. As with the Hyde United game I expect that this cup tie against our local rivals Southport will sell out very quickly.”

Paul Leary added:

“It is vitally important that all visitors to the stadium adhere to the covid regulations that are in place in the interests of the safety of everyone attending this game. The overriding priority is the compliance by everyone of the arrangements made in and around the stadium. Importantly, I continue to appeal for the co-operation of all fans to follow the instructions and requests made by safety stewards and Club officials before, during and after the game.”

“I look forward to meeting the players and officials of Southport FC in what is an exciting game in prospect with an opportunity for either side to progress into the later rounds of the Buildbase FA Trophy.”
