MARINE v WREXHAM – PREVIEW

Mariners and Dragons clash in eagerly-anticipated Emirates FA Cup tie…

Marine face Wrexham at the Marine Travel Arena this afternoon (3pm) in the Emirates FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round.

The Mariners have reached this stage for the second successive season, following wins over Workington, Dunston, Warrington Town and Atherton Collieries in previous qualifying rounds, whilst Wrexham were exempt to this stage given their National League status.

Other than long-term absentees Anthony Miley and Germano Mendes, plus defender Dean Winnard, Marine manager Neil Young is likely to have a fully-fit squad to select from. For their part, Wrexham may include Litherland born and raised striker Paul Mullin, who scored 32 goals in 2020/21 to become the League 2 Player of the Season.

The match is a sell-out, with a capacity crowd of 2,150 expected. Gates open at 1:30pm, with Marine fans to enter the MTA via gates 1&2 on College Road and gates 5&6 adjacent to the clubrooms, whilst Wrexham fans will enter through gates 3&4 via the car park.

Supporters are requested to arrive early to avoid congestion, and proceed to their allocated zone as indicated on their match ticket. In particular, those with tickets in zones T4, T5 or T6 at the Crosender Road end of the stadium are asked to take up their positions by 2:30pm.

Fans are also politely requested to follow the advice and guidance of Match Stewards, as well as announcements made over the PA during the afternoon.

We look forward to seeing you all for what should be a very special occasion!
