MARINE WOMEN TO PLAY THEIR FIRST EVER HOME GAME AT MTA THIS SUNDAY

The Game is due to kick off at 3pm this Sunday (20th September), welcoming all spectators with free entry.

Donations are welcome to help to support the team, and the ground will have strict Covid-19 restrictions to ensure fans and players are safe and have the utmost of enjoyment!

Manager Iain Scott said:
“This is a really big day for Marine Football Club. The women have been working hard in preseason and their first league game being last Sunday. So far we are unbeaten and we are not looking at backing down anytime soon!

We have amazing players that put everything into what they do on and off the pitch. I have been blessed with the majority coming from Crosby Stuart, as well as the legendary Frankie Meadows who has been a massive support!

This is a massive day for not just Marine FC but Crosby as a community and we want everyone to come along and support us. This is a community team bringing women’s sports and equality into the limelight!”

Frankie Meadows said:
“After the demise of the successful Crosby Ladies which was Crosby Stuart senior team there was an opportunity for Marine to develop their own women’s team, it’s great to see the community link between the two clubs with the majority of the squad being ex Crosby Stuart players, it now creates a clear pathway for the Stuart girls to progress into the woman’s game once they reach 16.

James Leary, the club CEO introduced us and we have formed a good bond and I look forward to working with Iain and Dec going forward.”
