Marine Football Club can confirm that Peter McCormack formally stepped down from his role as a Director at our recent Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Peter’s departure marks the end of an extraordinary era of dedication, having given an incredible 46 years of continuous service to the football club. Over the course of nearly half a century, Peter has been a steadfast figure behind the scenes, offering his time, expertise, and unwavering support through the club’s history.
While Peter has contributed in numerous capacities throughout his remarkable tenure, the board would particularly like to highlight his vital work in recent years as the club’s Safety Officer. This is a highly demanding, behind-the-scenes role that requires meticulous planning and a deep sense of responsibility. Peter executed these duties with the utmost professionalism, consistently ensuring the wellbeing of our supporters, players, and staff on matchdays at the Marine Travel Arena.
The board of directors wishes to place on record its deepest appreciation for Peter’s massive contribution over the decades. The longevity of his service is a true testament to his passion for the club, and we all thank him for his integral role in helping Marine become the proud, community-focused football club it is today.
To formally honour his commitment and legacy, Chairman, Paul Leary will be making a special presentation of a gift and an award to Peter on behalf of the board.
Everyone at Marine Football Club extends their heartfelt thanks to Peter and wishes him the very best for the future.
