Marine Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Carlos Dos Santos from Macclesfield FC for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old completes a permanent transfer where he made 33 first-team appearances for the Silkmen across all competitions.
Dos Santos initially developed through the Macclesfield FC Youth Academy before progressing into the IFG Macclesfield FC University programme. During his three successful years within the IFG setup, he established himself as a natural leader and key contributor, captaining the u23 Shadow Youth Team and finishing as the team’s top goalscorer.
To gain vital senior competitive minutes, Dos Santos joined Newcastle Town on loan, spending a productive season gaining valuable experience.
Following his development spell in the Northern Premier League, Dos Santos earned his initial senior first-team contract at Macclesfield FC in July 2025 where he previously crossed paths with Marine Director of Football Jimmy Holmes during Jimmy’s tenure as Head of Recruitment at Macclesfield.
His consistent performances, athleticism, and application subsequently saw him secure a contract extension through to June 2027.
A dynamic operator known for his strength & running power, Dos Santos brings tactical flexibility to Bobby Grant’s squad. Naturally left-footed, he is capable of playing in a variety of roles across central and wide midfield as well as dropping into defensive positions, offering great balance and key tactical options for the Mariners.
Speaking after completing his move to Marine, Carlos Dos Santos said:
“I’ve very excited to here and very happy to get the move over the line. I’m ready to go and I can’t wait to play for the club”
Marine Manager Bobby Grant expressed his delight at securing the midfielder’s signature:
“Carlos is a top talent and a massive addition for us. I’m genuinely excited to get to work with him. He brings real quality, strengthens our options, and undoubtedly makes us a better team overall”
Everyone at Marine warmly welcomes Carlos to the club and wishes him every success during his time with the Mariners.
