Goalkeeper and central defender commit to Mariners for next season…
Marine AFC are pleased to confirm that Anthony Miley and Bayleigh Passant have signed contracts that will keep them at the Marine Travel Arena until May 2022.
Bayleigh, 20, joined the club on a non contract basis from Tranmere Rovers in the summer and has kept nine clean sheets in 19 appearances this season.
28 year old Anthony is in his second full season with the Mariners and has made 57 appearances with 6 goals, including three in this season’s history making FA Cup run.
Manager Neil Young said:
“Bayleigh has done well in his first season at the club. He has been assured and has been part of a defensive unit that has improved as the games have gone on. He is still very young for a goalkeeper but if his development continues as we expect I believe he has a bright future.
To assist with his development we will be looking at bringing in a goalkeeper coach in time for the 21/22 season.
Anthony has been excellent for us for the best part of two seasons now and he had no hesitation into continuing his time here.
He understands the work we are trying to do and the building blocks we are putting place for now and the next few years.
The situation regarding the resumption of football is changing almost daily but we will continue to plan for the short and medium term.”
Bayleigh Passant said:
“I’m obviously happy to sign for Marine for the upcoming season. I’ve started to enjoy my football again here and made some great memories this season, hopefully I can make more in 2021-22.”
Anthony Miley said:
“It’s a no brainer to sign for next season. Really enjoyed my time at Marine so far, hopefully we can have a full League campaign next season and push for the promotion that the club deserves.”
