Vice Chairman Dave McMillan:
“It’s been 5 weeks now since our historic FA Cup tie with Tottenham Hotspur and a lot of work is going on behind the scenes as we look to build on the sound financial base that we have earned due to our on field success.
We are progressing with plans to install a 3G pitch at the Marine Travel Arena this summer, which will provide new income and the opportunity to expand the fantastic work undertaken by Marine in the Community.
In addition we will also be investing a significant amount in upgrading and improving the bar and function room facilities at the MTA, again to give us new and improved income streams but also to enhance match days for our fans.
The wall commemorating the virtual ticket purchasers for the Spurs game who donated an incredible amount of money is also in progress and will also be erected this summer – once again our thanks to Spurs fans and others from almost all corners of the globe who contributed..
Football of course is still suspended and it looks increasingly unlikely that there will be any resumption this season. We are planning for next season and have already secured key players on contract, with another one to be announced shortly who I’m sure will be a very popular one.
In the event that the current season concludes without any further football played we will make a further announcement regarding 2021-22 memberships once the outcome is known.
