Marine officials are saddened to hear of the sad passing of lifelong fan Derek McLoughlin, aged 89, after a short stay in hospital.
Derek was a regular at College Road for over 60 years attending most games including notable FA Cup victories over League clubs Barnsley in the 1970’s and Halifax Town in the 1990’s. He was a full member of Marine attending most AGM’s and was a shareholder in the Rossett Park Land Company.
Chairman Paul Leary said;
“Derek was a supporter who you could always count on to turn up at Marine whatever the fixture or occasion. He loved our FA Cup games last season especially watching the Tottenham game at home live on BBC. We have lost a very special friend and supporter who will be fondly remembered by all at Marine and we extend our condolences to Derek’s family and his many friends.”
