MARINE V ASHTON UNITED – PREVIEW

Marine entertain Ashton United at the Marine Travel Arena this afternoon (3pm) in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Having ended a run of five games without a win by beating Stafford Rangers in midweek, the Mariners will be looking for all three points this afternoon to continue their push towards the play-off positions. Striker Craig Curran is a doubt for today’s game having limped off on Tuesday, whilst Mark Howarth continues to serve his suspension.

Having recently brought in the experienced Steve Cunningham at their helm, the “Robins” have undergone a transformation in playing personnel a change of manager often results in. Ashton are currently sitting in mid-table having suffered a three-point deduction earlier in the season, but with six away wins already the Hurst Cross club will no doubt prove a tough nut for the Mariners to crack this afternoon. That was certainly the case on Tameside in late-September as the shares were spoiled, and another keenly-fought contest is prospect this afternoon.

Tickets for today’s game are still available for all supporters to purchase up until kick-off via;

Marine season tickets and membership cards must be presented for scanning at the turnstiles, whilst holders of NHS or Student season tickets should also present their ID badges.

Gates open at 1:30pm, with the 1894 Bar & Bistro and Arriva Suite open for refreshments.

We look forward to seeing you all at the MTA this afternoon!
