MARINE V CLITHEROE – PREVIEW

Marine entertain Clitheroe at the Marine Travel Arena this evening in the Pitching In Northern Premier League West (7:45pm).

The 2nd-placed Mariners would move level on points with leaders Warrington Rylands with victory this evening, the Whites currently having two games in hand on the Cheshire club. Neil Young’s men are also seeking to increase the pressure on 3rd-placed Workington who travel to Ramsbottom United tonight.

Recent signing Luke Clark is a major doubt for tonight’s game having suffered a hamstring injury at Glossop on Saturday, whilst Alex Doyle, Joe White and Danny Shaw may again miss out this evening but be back in contention for next Saturday’s trip to Mossley. On a positive note Kyle Hayde made his return from injury at Glossop, whilst new signing Kielen Adams made his debut as a late substitute and is likely to feature in the squad this evening.

Clitheroe arrive at the MTA seeking a win to maintain their slim hopes of securing the final play-off spot, as they look to overhaul Runcorn Linnets and Bootle who face each other this evening. The Blues claimed victory in the reverse fixture in September, the Mariners having two players dismissed in a 0-2 defeat on a night to forget. The Shawbridge club recorded an emphatic 6-0 win over City of Liverpool on Saturday, so will no doubt provide a stern test for the Mariners tonight.

Tickets for this evening’s game are still available to purchase via the following link;
