MARINE V WIDNES – PREVIEW

Marine entertain Widnes at the Marine Travel Arena this afternoon in the Pitching In Northern Premier League West (3pm).

With just five league games remaining the Mariners will seek to increase the pressure on both Warrington Rylands and Workington with victory this afternoon. The Whites are looking to record their first win in three outings, and other than James Barrigan who is suspended for today’s game, manager Neil Young should have a fully-fit squad to select from.

Our visitors from Cheshire currently occupy 12th place in NPL West and will comfortably retain their place in this division for next season. They have a couple of former Mariners in their squad and in the reverse fixture at the DCBL Stadium in November Widnes almost salvaged a point after a remarkable onslaught, having been reduced to ten men late in the contest. A 3-2 Marine victory on that occasion means that we seek to complete our tenth league “double” of the campaign this afternoon.

Tickets for today’s game are still available to purchase via the following link;

Gates 1 & 2 on College Road will open at 1:45pm as will gates 5 & 6 adjacent to the club entrance, and fans entering the stadium must provide their e-ticket or printed ticket which will be scanned on entry.

We look forward to seeing you all this afternoon!
