Manager commits until 2027…
Marine AFC are delighted to announce that Manager Neil Young has signed a new four year contract with the club to May 2027.
Neil joined the club in September 2018 and previously signed a contract in December 2020 to run to May 2024.
Marine Vice Chairman Dave McMillan said:
“Neil’s new contract is a real statement of intent both from him and the club to take Marine to the next level on and off the pitch.
The last full season before he joined saw an average attendance of 365, compared to the current season of 1,243, a 240% increase which is due to the style of football and facility improvements.
We felt that Neil was the right man to get the club back to the NPL Premier Division and that goal was met in his first full season after Covid, with also the never to be forgotten FA Cup 3rd Round run and now a Liverpool Senior Cup win being the main achievements so far.
The Mariners have consolidated our place in the Premier Division this season with a 9th place finish and I have no doubt that the next aim of National League football is on the horizon.
Neil sets high standards and has been a key figure in the club’s progress, he has the drive and ambition to match those of the club and its fans and I look forward to more success with him in charge.”
