Mo Touray and Djavan Pedro scored the goals as Marine fell to a 2-0 defeat and were left frustrated in Warrington.
Ultimately, The Mariners were not clinical enough in front of goal and fell to defeat after giving away one goal in each half against a team who were well organsised.
Rylands now move five points clear of Marine in the playoff places whilst Neil Young’s side still sit firmly in the top five.
Former Mariner Mo Touray scored the only goal of the first half after 26 minutes.
The forward found himself in a dangerous position just outside the Marine 18 yard box before calmly placing the ball past a helpless Bobby Jones.
Rylands frustrated their opponents for the remainder of the half and with the added stoppages in play, the away side struggled to create any real chances before the interval.
The second half was more positive from a Marine prospective but like the first half, chances were squandered.
When it looked like Marine were about to grab an equaliser, another former Mariner Pedro rapped in his sides second in a not too dissimilar fashion to their first.
With Marine now two behind, they attempted to play the ball over the top to the likes of Bobby Grant who, like his teammates, were frustratingly unable to add a killer instinct to their attacks.
Matty Waters, who came close in the first half, forced a save from Luke Pilling who had a solid game in net for his side.
The Rylands defence remained very organised and limited Marine to any chances in the box and consequently forced them out wide where they were unable to create anything dangerous.
You could clearly see why they had the best defences in the league, conceding just 38 goals all season.
Marine did all they could to make the net bulge but it just wasn’t their day. Sol Solomon smashed the post late on which summed up Marine’s day- frustrating.
With the defeat it ends Marine’s twenty game streak of scoring a goal, an unbelievable run that started back in December.
Marine now turn their attention to Morpeth in what is the penultimate home game of the season this Saturday.
