MARINE FC HOSTS WORLD FIRST PENALTY-TAKING MARATHON

This Friday, 5th April, Marine AFC will host the first marathon to have a penalty competition in the event with goals scored and finishing time recorded both recorded in the results.

Starting at 9.30am and departing from the Marine Travel Arena on College Road with all runners wearing, the event will raise vital funds for Alder Hey hospital. There are some special runners taking part in the event, including;Denys Baldy who is set this year to become the first French person to run 1,000 marathons, Bill and Pauline Howes heading towards 700 marathons which is a record for a marathon couple, Karl Randall who will run his 600thmarathon and Paul Sutherland who will run his 400th marathon. 

4 runners are set to take part from different parts of Marine Football Club; Community Director Graeme Gardiner, Academy Head Gary Judge, AFC Marine player Rob Stones and General Manager Jon Hoy.
