Club saddened at passing of former President…
Marine Club officials were saddened this week to hear of the passing of former President Dennis Hargreaves aged 86. Dennis served twice as President in the 1990’s and was instrumental during that time in appointing Johnson the Cleaners as shirt sponsor. As a Johnson’s main board Director he and the company sponsored Marine in a number ways for over 20 years.
Dennis has resided in Surbiton, Surrey with his wife Doreen since his retirement.
Chairman Paul Leary said:
“We are really saddened to hear the news of Dennis’s passing this week. He had a long association with Marine both as a supporter, friend and sponsor spanning back to the 1970’s. Dennis particularly enjoyed the Marine successes of the 1990’s winning the NPL League twice and the FA Cup exploits against Rochdale, Halifax and Barnsley.
Marine Football Club sends its sincere condolences to Doreen and his family and friends.
