Enterprise National League North side Marine AFC are thrilled to confirm the signing of 24-year-old Irish right-back Isaac Abankwah on a free transfer.
Adding further strength to the Mariners’ defence, Abankwah arrives bringing a reputation as a pacey and powerful full-back with valuable experience at this level of the football pyramid.
The 24-year-old’s career began in the Burnley Academy youth setup before he transitioned into senior football with Macclesfield FC. Following a stint at Wythenshawe Town, Isaac stepped up to the National League North with Farsley Celtic, where he proved his pedigree by making 24 appearances in the division. Most recently, the defender has been plying his trade in the Northern Premier League with Bamber Bridge.
Footballing talent clearly runs in the family, as Isaac is the older brother of current Watford and Republic of Ireland international centre-half, James Abankwah.
Everyone at Marine would like to extend a warm welcome to Isaac and we look forward to seeing him in action.
