Marine got back on track as they defeated Chorley by two goals to one at the MTA.
In the first home match in five games goals from Finlay Sinclair-Smith and Charlie Jolley led their side to victory.
It was a quick start from the Mariners as they took the lead in the opening eleven minutes.
After great work from George Newell he threaded through Sinclair-Smith who finished coolly for the first of the game.
Chances continued to come and go for Marine and they eventually found a second thanks to Jolley.
The number seventeen was found superbly by Newell and slotted his effort past Matty Urwin after a foot race between him and the defenders.
A scrappy encounter followed for the remainder of the half which worked in the favour of Marine who were happy to see play slow down.
The second period was very similar to the first with few chances for either team.
Substitute Owen German finished nicely for the visitors to give them a glimmer of hope with 20 minutes left to play.
Six minutes later, Scott Wilson was dismissed for a second bookable offence which strengthened Marine’s position as they claimed three points for the first time in three games.
Bobby Grant’s side now look ahead to Wednesday night where they play host to Hereford at the MTA.
