MARINE 5-0 LEAMINGTON

Marine 5-0 Leamington; Enterprise NLN; Saturday 14th February 2026

Adam Yates reports from a chilly Marine Travel Arena as Marine continued their 2026 unbeaten home form with an impressive 5-0 win over struggling relegation zoners Leamington FC.

Less than ten minutes in was when the scoreline was broken as Jack Hazlehurst, who had recently re-signed for the club put the Mariners ahead at the far post with a relatively easy tap in.

However, on the half hour mark, the fans were clapping Hazlehurst off the pitch rather than on it as he suffered a hamstring injury and was replaced by Matty McDonald.

McDonald himself was next on the score sheet with a near exact replication of the first goal being in the right place at the right time near the post.

The visitors were limited to only a couple of noticeable chances by Dan Meredith and Frank Tattum but neither seriously troubled the Marine net.

The celebrations continued into the second half when Joe Ashton pulled off a memorable goal direct from his own corner when it passed the head of Brakes keeper Rohan Ravenhill and nestled into the back of the net without a touch.

Working hard throughout, winger Fin Sinclair Smith captured an assist with a gorgeous aerial pass from the halfway line taken beautifully by Charlie Jolley who finished well for number four.

Sinclair-Smith then capped off a great day for the home fans with a solo goal coming in from the corner of the box and curling it past Ravenhill into the top far corner and completed the biggest home league victory at the MTA for over three years.

Next Up – Marine have a rare Tuesday off but are back in league action next weekend as they take a long trip to Oxford City.
