Marine and FC United drew 1-1 at Broadhurst Park early in October in a league game with Keilen Adams replying for the Mariners. The last game at the Marine Travel Arena against FC United was in the FA Trophy in November 2017 with Marine winning 1-0 courtesy of a Danny Mitchley penalty. In the NPL Premier Division the Clubs last played in Crosby in September 2014 drawing 0-0 in a tight game.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary said:

“It is a real highlight of our return to the NPL Premier Division to be hosting FC United of Manchester. Of the seven league games we played at the MTA until 2014 Marine have not won so there is a great incentive to change that sequence. With only seven weeks of the season remaining both clubs have a lot to play for and for sure this game could provide the impetus for either club to have a fine run in to the season end.”

Paul Leary added:

“I look forward to welcoming the players, staff, officials, and supporters of FC United to the Marine Travel Arena for what could be a pivotal game.”
