MARINE RESERVES – MANAGER

Marine AFC announce the return of Glynn Hurst as the Reserves (soon to be rebranded Marine U-23’s) Manager with immediate effect.

The former Bury, Ayr United, Notts County, Chesterfield and FC United of Manchester player racked up almost 400 football league appearances scoring well over 100 goals in the process. He was also Assistant Manager for Hyde United in the Conference North and brings a wealth of coaching experience to the role.

Glynn led Marine Reserves to West Cheshire division 3 promotion in the 2019/20 season before a brief spell as manager of Ashton Town. Glynn will also be coaching for Marine In The Community.

Commenting on his return, Glynn said:

“It’s a great honour to be handed the keys for developing future Marine stars once more. I’m delighted to be rejoining a club and people who I hold in the highest regard concerning trust, honesty and involvement in the community.

Ultimately my job is to give Neil Young and his massively improved squad more ammunition to help achieve promotion. I look forward to being actively involved with my Marine family once more.

Up the Mighty Mariners!”

Marine CEO James Leary said:

“I am delighted Glynn has returned to finish the job he started.

He will provide the perfect link between the newly formed Marine Academy and also with Neil Young.

Kevin Lynch has stepped down due to family reasons and I thank him for his efforts this season.”
