Marine entertain Bootle at the Marine Travel Arena this afternoon in the Pitching In Northern Premier League West (3pm).
A Christmas cracker of a derby is set to be played in front of Marine’s first sell-out crowd for an NPL game, as the league-leading Mariners are looking to end 2021 with their 100% home league record intact.
Marine Manager Neil Young is likely to be without Alex Doyle, Danny Shaw, Ben Hughes, and Ben Roberts due to injury and illness for today’s game, however new loan signing Connor Teale is in contention to make his debut.
The 8th-placed Bucks are on a good run of late and will be looking to continue their push toward the play-off places this afternoon. Bootle can also boast the division’s leading scorer in Ben Hodkinson, who has 15 league goals to his name this season.
Supporters should note that both clubs will be sporting their away kits for today’s game, in support of Shelter’s “No Home Kit” campaign for the homeless.
Today’s game is of course sold-out. Spectators are urged to arrive as early as possible to help ease congestion, and fans must present their ticket for scanning at the turnstiles to gain admission into the stadium. Fans arriving at the ground without a scannable ticket will not be admitted through the turnstiles.
Fans wishing to watch the game from the Jubilee Road or Crosender Road terraces must access the ground through gates 1 and 2 on College Road. Fans wanting to watch the game from the College Road end or wanting a seat in the main stand must enter the ground through gates 5 and 6. Seats in the main stand are unreserved and as soon as capacity at the College Road end has been reached gates 5 and 6 will be closed.
There will be no re-admittance of spectators throughout the game, including at half time.
Gates 1 and 2 will open at 1pm, at which time the Arriva Suite bar can be accessed for refreshments and snacks. Gates 5 and 6 will open at 1:45pm. The 1894 bar will be open from midday.
Marine Season tickets and Membership cards must be presented for scanning at the turnstiles whilst holders of NHS or Student season tickets should also present their ID badges.
We look forward to seeing you all this afternoon!
